Legal documents often contain language that is very convoluted and precise. For this reason detailed technical knowledge of the relevant legal context is essential in order to secure an accurate translation. Technical proficiency in the language itself is not sufficient for this reason.
Even the slightest change of wording in a contract can lead to significantly different translations. It is therefore imperative that a highly experienced translator, with a great eye for detail, is employed to undertake such work.
We have a number of safeguards in place to ensure that our work in this area is of the highest quality:
- we use in-country Associates who are familiar with the legal system and other current protocols related to their particular society
- we undertake a careful assessment of each assignment to ensure that we get the best match from our pool of Associates
- we proof read all documents before they are signed off to clients
- we have professional indemnity insurance in place of £1m. to cover any liabilities that may arise Examples of our work in this field include the translation of Court Orders, marriage certificates, business contracts and other forms of evidence required for legal reasons.
